Supernatural Manifestations - Supernatural Victories
Look what Jesus said in John 16:33,
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Remember that Jesus is Jewish so he would have used the Hebrew word for peace which is "Shalom". Shalom is a blessing word meaning wholeness, completeness, preservation, protection, full supply. Quite literally, nothing missing, nothing broken.
I used to think of peace as the absence of war. Yet, the way Jesus describes it, in Him we can experience peace in the midst of war. Protection in the middle of destruction. Water in a desert. Provision during a time of lack. What an awesome promise!
Now it is important to notice that Jesus did warn us there would be some trouble. We get excited that we are going to experience supernatural victories...which is good! However, a victory implies a battle. But remember what David said to Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:47,
Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hands.
I like to say, "The battle is the Lord's, the victory is ours!"
So even though Jesus said that we would have tribulation, he went on to say to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. That sounds a little old English...using more modern English we could say Jesus said, "Troubles coming-get excited!"
How can we be excited when trouble shows up? We remember that Jesus has already overcome it! That's right...past tense. He knew your problem was coming long before you experienced it. And He has already defeated it.
Now look at 1 John 5:4-5,
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
It was awesome to hear that Jesus has overcome the world. Here John tells us that, as sons and daughters of God, we overcome the world. How is that possible? By faith!
We believe and confess that Jesus is the Son of God. We receive the knowledge that Jesus has already defeated the enemy. He has already fought the battle. And out of His great love for us has handed us the victory! Hallelujah!
So, no matter what you are experiencing, or are going to experience, remember that even though it feels uncomfortable at the time...keep your faith strong in the promises of God.
When King Jehosophat was being threatened by three massive armies, he received a word from God that our Lord would deliver them. His response in 2 Chronicles 20:21 was,
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.”
By the time they arrived at the battlefield, all of the armies had defeated each other. The entire multitude were all lying dead and it took Judah three days to gather the spoil (treasures).
When the enemy is trying to fill your head with fear and doubt, just lift your voice and begin to praise God. Then, even though the storm is blowing all around you, it will not touch you. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, you will go through the fiery furnace and come out the other side without even the smell of smoke on your clothes.
You are an overcomer - you have overcoming faith!
As you sow your seeds of faith say, "I am an overcomer. My Jesus said so! He has overcome the world. He has already fought the battle and has given me the victory. The battle is the Lord's, the victory is mine! By faith, I have overcome every problem, in the Name of Jesus."
Please remember that we still pray for you every day. We are in agreement...you have the victory! Supernatural Victories!
You are blessed.
